HIMSS Tech Lab: Mixing Web 2.0 and education

CHICAGO — Do you use Twitter? Do you know how to find your friends’ Facebook or Linkedin profiles? By now you’ve seen some of these online tools lumped into the labels “social media,” and “Web 2.0.” If you want to learn about them and learn what they can do to help you as a health IT professional, be sure to visit the brand new HIMSS Tech Lab, located next to HIMSS Central, during conference hours.
At the HIMSS Tech Lab, attendees will engage in demonstration and hands-on training of HIMSS’ family of interactive Web tools and learn how these tools can benefit them and their professional career by enabling the exchange of industry knowledge and growing their professional network.
Attendees will deploy HIMSS’ Web 2.0 technologies, including the Virtual Conference & Expo, eLearning Academy, Grants Advantage, HIMSS Web site, HIMSS Connect, Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter.
HIMSS Tech Lab hours:
Saturday, April 4th – 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sunday, April 5th, through Tuesday, April 7th – 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Wednesday, April 8th – 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
HIMSS staff will be in the lab to take questions all day Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday through Tuesday. Topical sessions will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Tuesday. Wednesday is open for general questions, no sessions are scheduled.
